Bravo Delta Models Announcement Spitfire P8331

New Partnership Announcement with Bravo Delta Models

Bravo Delta Models are proud to be working with the Lagunas Spitfire Legacy, to produce a desktop model of the Supermarine Spitfire P8331 “Sumatra” in 1/22 Scale. Bravo Delta Models will be donating a percentage of the profit from sales of these models to support the rebuilding of Spitfire P8331.

Bravo Delta was set up in England in 1999 by Barry Davies – hence Bravo Delta.

Barry had seen these amazing models while travelling in the Philippines, and with a lifelong interest in aviation it seemed a perfect fit.  He developed and grew the model range for 15 years until 2014 when he decided to retire, and the business was bought by The Littledart Company Ltd.

The sale of the business was unusual to some extent since Barry was insistent about ensuring the future and livelihoods of the 70 families who put so much heart, soul and skill into making the Bravo Delta models so special.   It was Littledart’s own family credentials which persuaded Barry that his Philippines-based family would be in safe hands.

The Littledart Company Limited is a family company based in Devon in the South West of England, it’s the home of Bravo Delta Aircraft Models, Littledart Lighthouse Models, The Honeydoctor, and online wellbeing shop specialising in Manuka Honey From New Zealand and Littledart Fulfilment a boutique logistics company.

Research into the aircraft and full specifications are carried out by our expert researchers in England, which ensures models are as true to life as is possible

The models, themselves, are all bespoke built from sustainable kiln dried South East Asian mahogany, a hard wood with qualities that make it ideal for carving such detailed products.

Once carved, the wood is sanded and honed prior to the addition of some of the more detailed elements.  Next, the whole model is covered in a number of layers of putty which, after further sanding, provides a perfect base for the finish.

The models are then painted with up to 35 coats of acrylic paint as the individual paint scheme are worked up, including the many logos and inscriptions, all of which are hand-written by our skilled artists.

The final stage is a top coat finish to seal the model before it is carefully packaged and makes it long journey to our customers in Europe and North America.

Bravo Delta is proud to be associated with many of the world top airlines and manufacturers, as well as   both military and civilian organisations.
